Greene Contemporary closed its physical space in August 2009, but continues to assist artists with career management and exhibition opportunities. Greene Contemporary represented emerging artists and mid-career artists. Greene Contemporary looked globally for art that represented the most interesting contemporary art being made. The gallery searched for artists who had a proven commitment and dedication to making art. Greene looked for artists who participated in the dialogue about what defines contemporary art. The gallery artists worked in a variety of media including painting, sculpture, drawing, photography and video.
