The gallery Revisited began in November 2003 with 2 back-to-back Inaugural exhibits featuring 11 artists in each show, 2 weeks apart.
The location was in a 9-story building in Los Angeles China Town, with a view of the Gold Line going by. The New York-feel of the gallery was an immediate curiosity amongst the winding halls neighbored by seamstress shops. A strong curatorial program gleaned press recognition & sustainable productivity. Due to corporate business developers, and the discovery of 3 tons of illegal fireworks on the 7th floor, Revisited was forced to move.
Leora Lutz was then invited to bring her gallery expertise to Bamboo Lane, a space that was previously used for independent projects & sometimes occupied by an artists’ collective. The joint venture was known as Bamboo Lane/Revisited, a duality between the two merging galleries.
During Leora’s stay as Gallery Director of Bamboo Lane/Revisited she continued to feature compelling exhibitions with recognition from Artweek, LA Weekly’s Peter Frank, Angeleno Magazine & LA Times David Pagel, amongst others. In addition she nurtured outside relationships with institutions & organizations such as Venice Art Walk, Project by Project, Tarfest, LACMA Sales & Rental gallery, MOCA Contemporaries & LA Art Association.
In February 2006, Gallery Revisited opened in Silver Lake.
