Look for work from Latin American artists this week, with Christie’s and Sotheby’s holding their Latin American art auctions, exhibitions of Latin and South American art opening around the city, and the third annual PINTA Art Fair running from November 10-13. The modern and contemporary Latin American art fair assembles fifty select galleries from Latin and South America, the United States, and Europe.

El Museo del Barrio’s biennial The (S) Files 2011 comes to Brooklyn’s BRIC Rotunda Gallery for its sixth installment, opening November 9. With works by seventy-five emerging Latino, Caribbean, and Latin American artists currently working in the greater New York area, this year’s biennial extends the customary parameters of the urban street art genre to include works from disciplines such as music and fashion in addition to graffiti and murals.

Artlog Access: On November 17, Creative Time’s Flaming Youth masquerade ball will bring the famous Chelsea Art Balls of 1960s London to New York City. Tickets are $100 when you mention Artlog – contact danielles@creativetime.org. More info here.
