Los Angeles art advisor Julie Novakoff is the principal of Nova Fine Art, LLC, a full-service art advisory firm specializing in post war and contemporary art. Ms. Novakoff assists private collectors, corporations, developers and interior design firms in art acquisition and collection management. International in scope yet personal in nature, Nova Fine Art, LLC services focus on cultivating an appreciation for contemporary art and redefining one’s experience of art and culture.

Novakoff lectures widely on topics in the art market and contemporary art. Her most recent lectures include a collecting seminar and tour of Art Basel Miami Beach 2010 and photo l.a. 2011, the largest photo-based art fair in the US.

Prior to advising, Novakoff worked at both non-profit and commercial galleries and on curatorial projects with individual artists. While living in Boston from 2006-2010, she served on the board of directors of the non-profit The Art Connection (www.theartconnection.org) and on the Museum Council of The Museum of Fine Arts (MFA), Boston. Since her recent move from Boston to Los Angeles, she has become firmly entrenched in the Los Angeles art scene. She is an active member of the MOCA Contemporaries at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA) and of The Los Angeles County Museum (LACMA).

Ms. Novakoff is trained in classical ballet and holds a master’s degree in Art Administration from Boston University.
