Each spring, the Museum mounts a new exhibition of pysanky √¢‚Ǩ‚Äú Ukrainian Easter eggs. This year’s exhibition, entitled The Pysanka and the Rushnyk: Guardians of Life, features over 200 of the unique eggs and includes a selection of exquisitely embroidered rushnyky (ritual cloths) by noted Ukrainian American folk artist, researcher, and educator Myroslava Stachiw, who recently donated her collection to the Museum. The pysanka and the rushnyk are two of the items most commonly used in Ukrainian ritual practices.

The Pysanka and the Rushnyk: Guardians of Life was organized by the Museum’s curator of folk art, Lubow Wolynetz.
