A three-day event featuring site-specific installations + performances from more than 40 artists.
Random Number in random spaces continues with its latest project, Super Square. Making something out of nothing Super Square was born from a tanked economy and focuses on the creative use of available resources for presenting art exhibitions. A nomadic project, Super Square organizes events that emphasize the creation of site-responsive art in unoccupied spaces.
Super Square debuts with the group exhibition system:system on October 23. This three-day event reflects on the nature of associations between parts of a whole and will take place in a vacant convent in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The unoccupied nun’s living quarters will showcase artwork that experiments with the building up and/or breaking down of systems: mathematical, scientific, social, economic, and otherwise. The act of creating artistic content in a temporary context will feature prominently, remaining true to the fluid way in which these works were executed.
