Amos Eno Gallery is pleased to present a new solo exhibition of paintings from New York artist Deborah Freedman titled Paintings and Prints. The work will be on view from September 30-October 24.

“This body of work is a direct result of my immersion in the landscape of the Catskill Mountains coupled with my love of landscape painting whether it be Corot, Courbet, Hartley or Dove.

Part of my homage to both the natural world and the tradition of landscape painting has been a consistent production of monotypes. The subject matter may vary but the marks and
treatment of the ink on paper have been a thrilling way to stay connected. For the past two years I have used those monoptypes as the drawings/studies for the new work-
but not a rigid system of “copying”. The result has been a group of pictures similar in image to the prints but radically different in surface, texture and scale."
