/The current show “Wiser than God” at BLT Gallery will be open until August 3rd, 2009/
ARTERED - A Night of Affordable Art & Cocktails to benefit Children of Violence
and ARTERED will be held at BLT Gallery on the Lower East Side of Manhattan
across from the The New Museum, made possible with the support of Artist
Christopher Totaro and BLT Gallery.
NEW YORK, NY Thursday July 23, 2009 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m at BLT Gallery
(270 Bowery, 2nd floor, New York, NY 10012). ArteRed in collaboration with
artist Christopher Totaro and BLT Gallery will conduct a night of Affordable Art and
Cocktails to raise funds to implement art workshops for children affected by
the armed conflict and displacement in rural areas in Colombia.
This initiative is being made possible with in-kind support of artist Christopher
Totaro and BLT Gallery. Totaro will present his most recent series of work at an
affordable range from ten dollars and up the night of the event; in an effort to make
art accessible and contribute to a cause the he deeply believes in which is helping
the children of the world who have been affected by violence. Mr. Totaro’s work
portrays a sense of lightness, color and empowerment echoing the nature of this
initiative.
Established in January 2008, ArteRed’s mission is to develop stronger
communities through art. On this occasion, ArteRed is fostering educational-art
oriented programs for children affected by violence. The main focus of the art
program is to give children an opportunity to express their inner emotions through
creative art programs while providing a safe environment that nurtures and
supports their creativity.
