In these colorful watercolor and gouache works on paper, Britton creates vibrant and moving forces woven with detailed drawn patterns and loose, gestural brushwork. “The Error Chain” is a chain of events leading to a catastrophic failure or accident. Moving easily between abstraction and allegory, both in the evidence of process and other formal elements, Benjamin Britton’s works are inspired by historical events and personal disasters.
