ART 101 will exhibit the new paintings of Yolanda Shashaty from May 15 through June 14. The opening reception will be held on Thursday, May 14, from 6 to 8 pm.
Shashaty’s atmospheric paintings, mysterious and inviting, evoke the natural world, with an added dimension.
In her own words, “My new work combines nature and abstraction…nature for its inspiration and universality and abstraction for the freedom to take nature where I want to go.”
Yolanda Shashaty has exhibited in New York, Washington, D.C. Ohio, North Carolina, Colorado, and many venues in upstate New York. She was represented in the CONTEMPORARY ENVIRONMENT exhibit, staged by the Museum of Modern Art, Fairfield, Connecticut, 1989; the NEW DIRECTIONS exhibit at the Hirshorn Museum & Sculpture Garden in 1986; A VIEW TO NATURE at the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art, 1986.
