(VIDEO BOX), a division of WHITE BOX LTD, is pleased to present the US debut of Thomas Nie, featuring a series of short video works that use human movement and place to elicit the impression of the flux and episodic nature of our perception of vision. Recent works have been created in conjunction with contemporary dancers and performers in order to explore movement, energy and gestures within different and varied environments.

Residing in Basel, Switzerland, Thomas Nie is a German photo and video artist (www.thomasnie.com). He has developed a photographic and video lexicon that combines his observation and manipulation of movements. His use of color and camera transitions, combined with his subject’s own energy, fuses to create a vivid and rhythmic sequence of images that in both his still photographs and video projects link the perception of static with the ephemeral.
