Optical Annual Juried Exhibition 2010: Staged
Raandesk Gallery presents its 3rd Annual Optical Juried Competition, in which photographers from around the world are called upon to make online submissions for review by a panel of distinguished art-world experts, including museum or gallery professionals, collectors, and artists. Jurors vote on the photographs that best respond to the annual theme, such as Beauty in the Mundane (2009) and Photography Now (2008).
Raandesk encourages entries from photographers residing in any location regardless of experience or education in the field. A group exhibition of the top five finalists will be held at Raandesk Gallery in 2011 and special recognition will be given to the “best in show” winner and runner-up at the opening reception. These top two finalists will also receive a stipend award and the opportunity for a future exhibition at Raandesk.
This year the Optical theme is Staged. The submission process for photographers begins May 1 and ends August 14. All submissions are turned over to the jurors on August 20, when they will review the works online and select the five finalists (along with first and second place winners) by mid-October. Winners are announced in November.
