On August 8, 2008, the Global Justice Center, AllDayBuffet, Serene Communications, the ’88 Generation Students, the U.S. Campaign for Burma, and the International Burmese Monks Organization (IBMO), will launch the Global Justice for Burma campaign with “B8 Events” held in New York, San Francisco, London, Delhi, and possible other global locations. These events, held in art galleries showing Chinese artists, will bring together members of the Burma, human rights, activist, and creative communities to call for criminal accountability for Burma’s oppressive military regime, the SPDC. Each event will include a short video produced by the IBMO, a short address by an IBMO representative, and immediate access to an online petition and postcards asking for support of referral of the situation in Burma to the International Criminal Court from the presidents of the countries where events are being held.
All of these events are free and open to the public. Eli Klein Fine Art (462 West Broadway (b/w Houston and Prince); New York, NY 10012; Tel: (212) 255-4388)
