The Pace Gallery (510 W. 25) closed 12/10 - 02/05/11

In Tyson’s fourth solo exhibition at the gallery, the Turner Prize winner presents a new body of work created in 2010. The show features fifty-two paintings depicting the backs of playing cards (measuring approximately 39 × 31″), culled from two-hundred years of history—from a Twitter logo circa 2010 to a 1950s pinup girl. The works explore the operations of chance and the systems—random or otherwise—that govern human history.
