The image up above is taken from the artist’s larger body of work entitled, American Surfaces, a particular series of photographs shot on the artist’s first cross-country road trip, taken with a 35mm Rollei in 1972. At the time, Shore was among the very first American photographers who began working in color photography and introduced the medium into the contemporary art dialogue.
