MOCA Grand Avenue
ongoing
Nancy Rubins’s Chas’ Stainless Steel, Mark Thompson’s Airplane Parts, About 1000 Pounds of Stainless Steel Wire, Gagosian’s Beverly Hills Space, at MOCA (2001/2002) is a monumental sculpture that brings together all these disparate elements to create a sprawling and meticulous work. Acquired by MOCA in 2001, this piece is made from used airplane parts with an expanse of 54 feet. It is among the largest Rubins has ever made, and one of the most carefully and delicately engineered.
