Las Manos Gallery, together with the Engineers Without Borders Chicagoland Professional Chapter, will host a fundraiser to benefit well building in Burkina Faso.
The rural community of Napenkara, in the western Banfora region of Burkina Faso, West Africa, has no electrical service, no sewer system, no phone or internet service and no source of clean drinking water. The lack of potable water is responsible for a high incidence of diarrhea, cholera, typhoid and sometimes death. Children who are able to attend the local schoolhouse often miss class in order to fetch water.
The EWB team will travel to Napenkara to collaborate with the village to assess their water needs. If successful, they will return this year to help drill two wells, with pumps and purification equipment.
Please join EWB at Las Manos Gallery on Saturday, May 19th from 6-10pm to support this incredible cause.
The event features a silent auction with work donated by gallery artists, music, cash bar, appetizers and prizes.
Please reserve your tickets for $35 at www.razoo.com/team/Ewb-Cpc-Napenkara-Well-Project. (Please specify “Las Manos”)
