Prune Nourry is a NY based multi-disciplinary artist who draws her inspiration from bioethics. Through the humorous medical world she recreates in her performances, artworks and exhibitions, Nourry brings attention to some of the issues arising from our fast growing scientific discoveries.

The Holy River exhibition will be the culmination of a three-year project on gender selection focused on India. The flowing theme of this show will be water, mirroring the Holy Daughters exhibition that took place in 2011 in Paris around the theme of Milk. For this multimedia exhibition, sculptures, monumental installations, photographs and videos will take over the entire ground floor of the Invisible Dog.

Conjoining with the diverse layers of Nourry’s art, Prune collaborates with other artists to offer multi sensorial performances throughout the exhibition: dance, curated by Simon Dove and performed by Preeti Vasudevan, sound by Mitchell Yoshida, smell by Olivier Delcour and taste by Michael Hamilton.

The show retraces Nourry’s latest performance in Kolkata, where she collaborated with local male artisans to create a monumental (18 feet) “deity”, made in Ganges clay. With her team, she processed the sculpture through the streets, infiltrating the Durga Puja celebration, and immersed it in the Ganges.
