Tanya Bonakdar Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition of new work by Ernesto Neto. A monumental installation of vibrantly colored crocheted netting and bright plastic balls will hang from the ceiling of the downstairs gallery, forming a suspended, bridge-like structure that visitors can climb inside and walk through. Demonstrating his genius for the construction of social space, the installation will provide an opportunity for the viewers to engage not only with the piece itself, but also with each other. A series of smaller works installed throughout the upstairs and downstairs spaces, using similar materials in biomorphic shapes, also prompt interaction and redefine the boundaries between artwork and viewer. We are additionally excited to present a group of new photographs of the Brazilian landscape, installed in unexpected configurations that reference organic forms.
