Guo Yicong, born in 1940, is a professor and doctoral supervisor in Central Academy of Fine Arts, the director of Chinese Painting Art Committee of Chinese Artists Association, former dean of Chinese Artistic Creation School of Chinese National Academy of Arts, librarian of Central Research Institute of Culture and History, member of the 8th and 9th national committee of CPPCC, Standing Committee member of China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful National Reunification and president of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Association.
During the exhibition, Guo’s over 120 works throughout his 50 years of art creation will be displayed, including famous ones such as The Sun Shines on Hongkong, Merging Heaven and Earth and Beautiful Spring Scenery, Flowers on Luoxiao Mountain, Dance with the Sea, etc., some sketching paintings as well as ceramic ones.
The exhibition is designed to showcase Guo’s Creation Style and features, and reflect his artistic assumptions, in particular to such creative philosophies as “big flowers and birds spirit”, “your weeds form my garden”, “restructure techniques—compose symphonies” and “freehand brushwork with thick colors” or that Guo embraces the nature and life by making efforts and exploration in presenting the times, eulogizing the life, protecting the environment and caring for the nature in the specific form of flower and bird paintings.
