The street artist and photographer JR is famous for the black and white photographs he mounts on buildings from Paris to the Middle East to Haiti, winning the 2011 TED Prize for his work (among other accolades). We recently accompanied the artist as he put up a massive mural in Williamsburg at Berry and South Fifth—Artlog’s former headquarters! The enormous eye, which looks like it’s trying to engage the the Williamsburg Bridge in a staring contest, is from a series of photographs of the Native American Lakota tribe.
