When creative people collaborate, the result can often be disastrous, explosive, or both. In the case of Bizi Gara, a jazz-rock band comprised of Baptiste Ibar (painter), Michael DiDonna (photographer), Kai-wei Hsu (furniture designer), and Noah Plotkin (musician and founder of Plotkin Presents), the collaboration is definitely explosive, drawing on influences including jazz, blues, and psychedelic rock. Their interest in visual media bleeds into their music and vice versa, creating a strong flow of ideas that keeps the music and their respective visual pursuits fresh. Bizi Gara’s album Changing is available here.
In the video below, we visit the band in Williamsburg and check out their performance at Zebulon Cafe.
