Ca$hcats: Exploring the Power Dynamic Between Cats, Humans, and the Internet
Tiffany Jow

If the Walker Art Center’s film festival devoted to cats isn’t enough to satiate your voracious appetite for internet kitties, you’re in luck. The addictive website ca$hcats.biz has teamed up with Tumblr and Forced Meme Productions to present Cashcats.biz: How the One Purrrcent Really Live, a mixed-media exhibiton that’ll take place on September 6. They’re asking fans of the site to submit work of all kinds, according to the FAQ section of the open call:

Beyond the obvious, what kind of themes are you exploring here?

The power dynamic between cats, humans and the internet. Who is the real upper class? How do social status signifiers such as cash and guns change when a kitten possesses them? Do Cats Rule Everything Around Me? This is a very sensitive area, not unlike the belly of a cat. The more we probe, the greater our risk for claws, biting and kicking—possibly all at the same time.

Cashcats.biz: How the One Purrrcent Really Live is accepting submissions through August 24 here, and the exhibition will take place on September 6 at The Dumbo Loft.
