The prologue of the July 1 episode of the radio show This American Life features a conversation between host Ira Glass and his friend, who visited the recent Cindy Sherman retrospective at MoMA and encountered a woman claiming to be Cindy Sherman. Baffled, the duo didn’t know what to think, and couldn’t stop thinking about it for weeks. Eventually, Glass opts to telephone the artist and get to the bottom of the matter.
