Martha Rosler Reads Vogue
Lindsey Grothkopp

In anticipation of the Meta-Monumental Garage Sale, Martha Rosler’s MoMA performance opening in November, Spectacle Theater is screening three of Martha Rosler’s famed video works from the ‘70s and ’80s. Thursday’s program highlights Rosler’s sharp analyses of everyday social life and late capitalism, including a video in which she dissects the subliminal and violent messages contained in an issue of Vogue. The Meta-Monumental Garage Sale, first exhibted in 1973, will address similar themes through an enormous garage sale in MoMA’s atrium.

An Evening with Martha Rosler is Thursday, June 14, 8:00 p.m. at Spectacle Theater, 124 South 3rd Street, Brooklyn, between Bedford Avenue and Berry Street. Tickets are $5 at the door.
