Music, Art, and Food at the Chelsea Music Festival
Amanda Ryan

This week, the Chelsea Music Festival returns for its third year, bringing both established and emerging musicians to one of the world’s leading arts districts. Events are throughout the week across multiple venues, with some performances followed by receptions with menus inspired by the music.

Performances ranges from classical to jazz to contemporary composition. Both Eyebeam and the Rubin Museum are hosting tributes to John Cage, and one of the highlights of the week is the Rubin Museum’s On Silence, an event reflecting on the composer’s seminal 4’33". Free events include outdoor concerts at noon, artist talks, and a DJ remix of classical sources, pop, and hip-hop.
