Artist Anne Koch’s work explores the human relationship with food, touching on themes of gluttony, pleasure, and social interaction. For her new installation, Eat, she’ll pig out on a continuous basis for five weeks at Allegra LaViola Gallery. The food will rotate on a weekly basis in performances like Eat (cheeseburger), Eat (grapes), Eat (spaghetti), Eat (waffles), and Eat (bacon), which occur throughout the gallery’s opening hours. On June 13, Koch will host a banquet called Dining Room 01, where guests can dine on a sumptuous meal while she continues her gig simultaneously in the same room. Her video, (Eat) series one, is screened concurrently at the space, detailing her experience grazing in different locales.

Eat is on view at Allegra LaViola Gallery through July 6.
