Chiara Clemente’s film series, Beginnings, shrewdly delves into the origins of creative lives. She studies six individuals in her first series in 2010 (which focuses on people living in New York) and five in the second (centered in Paris), meticulously tracing the diverse seeds of imagination that led to exceptional careers. From Yoko Ono to Christian Louboutin, the shorts are deeply personal and specific, yet provide insight into the equally distinctive abilities and motivations of the viewer. Clemente hopes to continue the series in the future.
