Chinese dissident Ai Weiwei continues to speak out about his constantly-monitored life in Caochangdi Village, a small complex just outside of Beijing. The artist, of Bird’s Nest and Sunflower Seeds fame, was arrested last April and has not been permitted to leave the country since. On Slate, Jacob Weisberg publishes two impromptu interviews with the artist, recorded on an iPad from inside Ai’s walled compound.
